July 18 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian telecommunications company Bulsatcom confirmed on Tuesday that its geostationary communications satellite, BulgariaSat-1, is planned to start broadcasting at the beginning of August.
"The first Bulgarian geostationary communication satellite continues its active preparation for the launch of regular operations. It has been officially confirmed that all systems of the satellite work normally," Bulsatcom said in a statement.
Bulsatcom CEO Maxim Zayakov said earlier this month that if everything went according to plan, BulgariaSat-1 should be able to start broadcasting at the beginning of August.
On June 23, BulgariaSat-1 was taken into space from Cape Canaveral aboard a space-proven Falcon 9 rocket provided by SpaceX.
Bulsatcom is a leading telecommunications company and the largest pay-TV services provider in Bulgaria.
