January 16 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's electricity production dropped by 13.77% on the year to 2,086 GWh from January 1 to January 15, the Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Monday.
Meanwhile, year-to-date domestic power consumption fell by an annual 3.29% to 1,772 GWh, ESO said in its latest weekly newsletter.
The country's power trade surplus sunk by 46.46% in annual terms to 314.3 GWh in the period under review, the data showed.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission network declined by 9.29% to 60.9 GWh, whereas the volume of renewable energy in the distribution grid went down by 16.29% to 67.9 GWh.
The output of hydropower plants slumped by a yearly 58.26% to 91.1 GWh, ESO said.
