June 13 (SeeNews) - Three units of Bulgarian thermal power plant (TPP) Maritsa Iztok 2 were shut down after a breakdown late on Wednesday and were later reconnected to the grid, the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) said on Thursday.
All three units were reconnected to the grid early on Thursday, IBEX said without elaborating on the reasons for the accident. No information about damages or casualties was provided.
Unit 3 was out for 5 hours and 20 minutes, Unit 4 was out for 4 hours and 44 minutes, while Unit 1 was reconnected to the grid after 3 hours and 43 minutes.
TPP Maritsa Iztok 2 has eight operating units with a total installed capacity of 1,620 MW.
