May 5 (SeeNews) - The number of residential building permits issued in Bulgaria in the first quarter of 2022 rose by 19.7% on an annual comparison basis, reaching 1,850, the statistical office said on Friday.
By contrast, compared to the fourth quarter of 2021, the number of residential building permits issued in the January-March period decreased by 3.1%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
A total of 18 permits for the construction of office buildings were issued in the fourth quarter, down 35.7% on the year. Compared to the previous quarter, the number of construction permits for office buildings nearly halved.
Looking at other types of buildings, a total of 1,071 permits were issued in the quarter under review - a year-on-year decline of 4.1% and a drop of 8.5% on the previous quarter.
