June 1 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian digital accelerator platform Icanpreneur said on Thursday it is launching a pre-seed funding round with the aim of raising 1.2 million euro ($1.3 million) to further boost its organic growth, which exceeded expectations.
The proceeds will be deployed to speed up the development of Icanpreneur's accelerator-as-a-software product and execute its go-to-market strategy over the next 12 to 24 months, the company said in a press release.
The new cash call comes after the Bulgarian start-up closed an angel round less than a year ago, at a post-money valuation of 2.5 million euro.
The company has the ambition to capitalise on the emerging entrepreneurship trends, with a focus on AI, in markets in Central and Eastern Europe, the EU and U.S. The fresh capital raised in this campaign will enable that to happen at a much faster and more dynamic pace, Icanpreneur said.
"We are witnessing an unprecedented wave of new founders, especially in the technology world. However, they are following the traditional way – seeking knowhow from dispersed sources in various formats. This could be done better through a guided software-based journey. With Icanpreneur this is finally a reality," Svetozar Georgiev, angel investor in Icanpreneur and co-founder of Bulgarian software developer and digital training provider Telerik, said.
The company also launched its Icanpreneur Early Adopters Program, granting exclusive access to 200 customers who will help improve and develop the platform with a view to positively impacting the Bulgarian ecosystem.
