August 23 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's health ministry said it has opened an 8.03 million levs ($4.5 million/4.1 million euro) tender for construction works for the needs of the outpatient emergency healthcare units in the country's northwestern regions
The tender, divided into six lots, is backed by EU funding under operational programme Regions in Growth 2014-2020, the health ministry said in a statement earlier this week.
The works will be carried out in the regions of Vidin, Vratsa, Lovetch, Montana and Pleven.
The project envisages construction of new buildings as well as upgrades of existing ones, the ministry said in a tender notice filed with the Bulgarian procurement agency.
Bids will be ranked solely according to price.
The deadline for submitting offers is September 19.
The tender is part of a larger investment project aimed at modernising Bulgaria's emergency medical services. The project is worth some 164 million levs and is partially financed from EU funds through the European Regional Development Fund and under operational programme Regions in Growth 2014-2020.
One of the tenders included in the project - for procurement of 400 fully equipped ambulances, was suspended several times last year due to complaints filed with the country's anti-trust body.
