July 13 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian non-profit association CPSBB said on Monday that it has awarded a 16.6 million levs ($9.6 million/8.5 million euro) contract for the construction of a centre of plant systems biology and biotechnology in the city of Plovdiv to local company GBS - Plovdiv.
The project benefits from EU funding under operational programme Science and Education for Smart Growth, the CPSBB said in a notice to the public procurement agency.
The contract was signed on July 2.
Six companies submitted offers in the tender for the contract.
CPSBB is developing the PlantaSYST project, which aims to allow the translation of fundamental research into sustainable bio-based technologies in Bulgaria through the establishment of a centre of plant systems biology and biotechnology.
