October 26 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian cable maker Emka [BUL:57E] said on Friday that its net profit edged up to 3.3 million levs ($1.9 million/1.7 million euro) in the first nine months of 2018, from 3.2 million levs in the same period of last year, backed by a rise in domestic market sales revenue.
The company's total operating revenue grew to 79.1 million levs in the January-September period from 71.9 million levs in the comparable period of 2017, Emka said in an interim financial statement.
Revenue from sales on the local market amounted to 26.3 million levs in the review period. In the first nine months of 2017, Emka posted domestic sales revenue of 20.4 million levs, according to its interim report published last year.
Sales abroad rose to 51 million levs in the period under review from 49.1 million levs the year before.
Emka's total operating expenses grew to 75.9 million levs from 68.7 million levs a year ealier, as expenses for materials increased to 65.9 million levs from 59.1 million levs.
As at 13:25 CET on Friday, Emka shares traded 1.52% lower at 2.6 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
