February 17 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian financial leasing company Elana Agrocredit [BUL:EAC] said it signed deals to finance purchases of agricultural land worth 816,470 levs ($444,372/417,455 euro) in January, up from 68,731 levs in the same month a year earlier.
Elana Agrocredit financed the purchase of about 35.3 hectares (ha) of land last month, compared to about 5.4 ha a year earlier, the company said in a monthly report on Thursday.

According to the data, Elana agreed six deals for financing purchases of farmland in January, compared with five transactions in the same month of 2022.
For the 2022-2023 crop year, Elana Agrocredit has so far approved loans to clients of some 28.28 million levs in total.
As at CET 0843 on Friday, shares in the company traded flat at 1.02 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
Elana Agrocredit reported in January a standalone net profit of 2.84 million levs for 2022, up from 2.72 million levs in the previous year.
