May 9 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian competition authority said on Tuesday that it has discontinued its investigation of the proposed acquisition of Bulgarian software developer Prime Holding by Ireland-based United Star Software Ltd.
The step was taken upon United Star Software's request, which was tabled in late April, the Commission on Protection of Competition said in a notice.

United Star Software had informed the CPC that there had been a change in the parties' intentions to complete the transaction. The Bulgarian antitrust watchdog had started the enquiry in late March.
United Star is a holding company established to acquire control of software developing firms in Central and Southeastern Europe, and has not been active in Bulgaria to date.
Plovdiv-based Prime Holding is an outsourcing company for software development, offering services to firms in Bulgaria and abroad.
