September 7 (SeeNews) - All share indices on the Bulgarian stock market closed higher on Monday, extending their winning streak to a third consecutive session, bourse data showed.
The SOFIX, which comprises the 20 most liquid shares trading on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), surged 2.91% to 471.12 points and the broader BG40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the bourse, advanced 2.04% to 128.9 points.
The SOFIX rose 2.23% and the BG40 gained 1.44% on Friday.
Trading volumes improved sharply even through turnover, excluding block and other pre-agreed deals, slipped to 2.1 millon levs ($1.5 million/1.1 million euro) from 2.3 million levs on Friday. However, turnover on Friday was boosted by trade in bonds of wholesaler and distributor of automotive products and services Avto Union which accounted for 1.0 million levs of that session's turnover.
On Monday trade in bonds totalled 9,800 levs.
Financial and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria, part of BG40, was the day's most active stock. A total 671,333 shares of the company were traded, ending 3.91% higher at 1.43 levs.
Agria Group Holding, a local group investing in the farming sector, was also very liquid on Monday, posting a volume of 32,995 shares and plunging 9.09% to 4.05 levs. The stock is usually among the less traded on the market.
Hydraulic equipment maker M+S Hydraulic paced the SOFIX gainers, surging 13.48% to 5.22 levs as just 60 shares changed hands.
A total of 57 stocks rose, 19 declined and 11 ended unchanged on Monday.
The BG-REIT index, tracking the performance of real estate investment trusts, added 1.36% to 45.38 points after rising 1.5% in the previous session. The bourse's BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, picked up 2.2% to 348.78 points. The BG TotalRetur 30 rose 2.69% on Friday.
The Dnevnik 20 index, calculated by local business daily Dnevnik from the share prices of the 20 leading companies in terms of liquidity and market capitalisation, climbed 2.63% to 67.85 points.
