September 3 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian producers booked over 30 million levs ($18.2 million/15.3 million euro) in revenue from sales abroad via stores of German retailer Lidl in the first half of 2021, marking an increase of 44% year-on-year, Sofia-based media reported.
Over 141 products of 39 Bulgarian companies were sold in Lidl stores in 25 foreign countries in the first six months of this year, local news outlet Investor.bg reported earlier this week.
Romania, Greece, and Germany were the top three importers of products of Bulgarian suppliers of Lidl in the period under review.
Lidl Stiftung & Co entered the Bulgarian market in 2010. Currently, Lidl operates in 50 cities across Bulgaria and employs about 3,000 people.
