May 18 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian leasing companies' claims under financial and operational leases totalled 4.365 billion levs ($2.73 billion/2.23 billion euro) at the end of March, up 1.6% year-on-year, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said.
Compared to the end of 2020, claims were 1.3% higher at the end of March, the BNB said in a statement on Monday.
Financial lease claims totalled 4.145 billion levs at the end of March, up by an annual 1.6% and 1.4% higher compared to the end of 2020.
Operational lease claims increased by 2.3% year-on-year to 220.3 million levs at the end of March, and were 0.3% lower compared to the end of the last year.
The assets of the companies operating in Bulgaria's leasing sector totalled 5.27 billion levs at the end of March, up from 5.14 billion levs a year earlier.
There were 45 active leasing companies in Bulgaria at the end of March, one less compared to a year earlier.
