May 19 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria will lift on June 1 the mandatory 14-day quarantine for arrivals from Serbia and Greece imposed in an attempt to limit the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, prime minister Boyko Borissov said on Tuesday.
At the border with Greece and Serbia, people leaving or entering Bulgaria will have to state that they do not have coronavirus symptoms and that they are traveling at their own risk, Borissov said in a video file published on the website of public television BNT, following an online conference with his counterparts in Greece, Serbia and Romania.
Talks are under way with the Romanian authorities on reaching a similar decision, Borissov added.
On May 14 Bulgaria declared a one-month state of epidemic emergency which replaced the state of emergency imposed over the coronavirus pandemic in the period between March 13-May 13.
