January 25 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's caretaker government said on Wednesday it extended by nine years a concession contract for the Smolsko dolomite deposit in Sofia region.
The extension was requested by Vitez Prospect due to remaining dolomite deposits in the concession area, it said in a statement following its weekly meeting.
The government also approved a request for the transfer of the concession from local civil engineering company Vitez Prospect to its subsidiary Kariera Smolsko.
The concession contract was initially awarded in 2004. It covers the extraction of dolomite and dolomitic limestone, which are used in construction.
