January 9 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's agriculture ministry said that it extended the period for submitting applications for grant funding under its 15.5 million euro ($16.55 million) scheme for supporting young farmers until January 31 to give more time to potential candidates to prepare the needed documents.
As many as 348 projects with a total value of 8.7 million euro were submitted for approval by the original deadline of January 6 since the opening of the procedure on November 1 last year, the ministry said in a statement on Friday.

Under the plan, each farmer in the age bracket of 18 to 40 years is eligible for funding of up to 25,000 euro under the scheme that is part of Rural Development Programme 2014 - 2020.
