June 13 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) completed an EU-financed project worth some 18.05 million levs ($9.93 million/9.23 million euro) for the reconstruction of three road sections, totalling nearly 19 km, between the coastal city of Varna and the village of Zhitnitsa, it said.
The project was co-funded with 15.34 million levs under the EU's operational programme Regions in Growth 2014-2020, while the Bulgarian government contributed 2.71 million levs, the RIA said in a statement on Wednesday.
The overhaul of the road sections was carried out by local construction company Avtomagistrali-Tcherno More under a 15.36 million levs contract and supervised by engineering consulting firm Rutex as part of a 238,200 levs contract.
The tertiary road is a main link between the municipalities of Beloslav, Provadia, Devnya and Varna, the RIA added.
