PODGORICA (Montenegro), September 7 (SeeNews) – Hotel operator Budvanska rivijera [MNG:BUDR] led the blue-chip gainers on the Montenegrin stock exchange in August, as stock indices ended don, bourse data indicated.
The blue-chip index of the Montenegro Stock Exchange, MNSE10, closed August at 787.18 points, down 3.43% month-on-month and 4.6% year-on-year.
The benchmark MONEX index, which tracks the 20 most representative shares on the Montenegro Stock Exchange, declined by 1.66% month-on-month in August, reaching 10,353.48 points. The index went down 4.3% year-on-year.
Budvanska rivijera rose the most among the blue chips in August, adding 2.40% month-on-month to 6.5278 euro, as 6,401 of its shares changed hands in 16 transactions. The company generated a share turnover of 41,784 euro.
Power utility Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) [MNG:EPCG] paced the blue-chip decliners in August, shedding 12% month-on-month, to 3.6164 euro. The company generated a share turnover of 7,992 euro. A total of 2,210 shares in EPCG changed hands in August in eight transactions.
Тhe bourse's total turnover rose in August to 4.035 million euro ($4.684 million) from 1.559 million euro a month earlier.
A total of 266 transactions were concluded on the bourse in Podgorica in August, versus 296 in July. Stock market capitalisation was 2.974 billion euro at the end of August, up from 3.077 billion euro a month earlier.
