BUCHAREST (Romania), November 4 (SeeNews) – Romanian share indices bounced back on Wednesday amid slim volumes, dampened by the ongoing political tension in the country, brokers said.
The blue-chip BET index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB, rose 1.63% to 4,456.46 points. The BET-FI, which tracks the country's five regional investment funds, the SIFs, added 1.06% to 20,282.06 points.
The composite BET-C index gained 1.2% to 2,610.10. The ROTX index of Romania's 15 most liquid stocks, a joint index of the BVB and the Vienna Stock Exchange, climbed 1.9% to 9,409.38.
Sluggish investor interest could well be attributed to the uncertain political situation in Romania after parliament rejected earlier on Wednesday the cabinet proposed by prime minister-designate Lucian Croitoru, one broker told SeeNews. The stock price gains were helped by positive trends on global markets.
BVB's turnover slipped to 12.4 million lei ($4.2 million/2.9 million euro) from 19 million lei on Tuesday. The number of traded shares was down to 26 million from 32.7 million on Tuesday.

Blue-chip brokerage SSIF Broker climbed 2.9% to 0.213 lei in deals worth 264,000 lei.
The BET-XT index, which tracks the 25 most liquid companies on the bourse, including the SIFs, rose 1.4% to 423.92 points. The BET-NG, which includes companies from the energy sector and utilities, was up 1.21% to 579.87 points.
