October 5 (SeeNews) - Romanian stock indices ended in red on Wednesday as daily turnover jumped, bourse data indicated.
The bourse's total equity turnover surged to 228 million lei ($57 million /51 million euro) from 31.23 million lei on Tuesday.
Turnover was boosted two block deals with Banca Transilvania [BSE:TLV] shares worth 207.7 million lei.
On Friday, the capital market of Romania has been put by FTSE Russell on the list of countries that have a substantial potential to be upgraded to the status of the Emerging Market in short or medium term perspective.
In regular trading, blue-chip lender Banca Transilvania [BSE: TLV] closed 1.25% higher at 2.4050 lei in Wednesday's largest turnover of 12.36 million lei.
blue-chip investment fund Fondul Proprietatea [BSE:FP] fell 0.25% to 0.8080 lei in the day's second-largest turnover of 1.78 million lei.
Blue-chip gas pipeline operator Transgaz [BSE:TGN] lost 0.33% to 302 lei in the day's third-largest turnover of 940,250 lei.
