SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), February 25 (SeeNews) – The number of construction permits issued in Bosnia's Serb Republic in January plummeted by 27% year-on-year to 52, the entity's statistical office said.
The number of permits issued for residential and non-residential buildings dropped 34% in annual terms in January, whereas the permits for civil engineering projects rose 8.3%, the Institute of Statistics of the Serb Republic said in a monthly report on Monday.
Out of the total number of permits issued in January, 34 covered new construction projects, nine were related to upgrades and extensions, while the remainder covered works for reconstruction and conversion of buildings.
Based on the number of permits issued, planned dwellings decreased by 30% compared to January 2019, to 214.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
