SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), November 26 (SeeNews) – Bosnia's Serb Republic consumer price index (CPI) fell by an annual 1.9% in October, after decreasing by 1.7% in September, the entity's statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices in the Serb Republic edged up 1% in October, after adding 0.1% in September, the Serb Republic's Institute of Statistics said in a statement earlier this week.
In annual terms, prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco in the entity rose 3.4% in October, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages remained unchanged, while prices of clothing and footwear fell 9.6%. Prices in the sector of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels edged down 0.2%.
The biggest year-on-year drop in consumer prices in October, of 11.5%, was recorded in the transport sector.
The Serb Republic's average consumer price inflation slowed to 0.5% in 2019, from 1.2% in 2018.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
