SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), August 23 (SeeNews) – The number of mobile network users in Bosnia and Herzegovina rose to 3,319,416 at the end of March, up 0.5% year-on-year, Bosnia's statistical office said.
The mobile penetration rate in Bosnia and Herzegovina fell to 94% at the end of March from 98.01% at the end of the previous quarter, the statistical office said in a quarterly report on Wednesday.
Fixed telephone lines of dominant operators totalled 600,535 in the first quarter of 2019, down 3.1% year-on-year, whereas fixed telephone network traffic decreased by 10.8% on the year, to 412,618,178 minutes.
On the other hand, mobile telephone network traffic increased by 3.3% year-on-year in the first quarter to 542,033,666 minutes. The number of sent SMS messages dropped by 16.5% on the year to 109,393,545.
The total number of broadband subscribers at the end of March amounted to 697,642, compared to 686,226 at the end of the first quarter in 2018.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has a population of some 3.5 million.
