June 18 (SeeNews) - Bosnian state-owned company Kosmos signed on Monday a two million euro ($2.3 million) missile overhaul deal with Serbia's defence ministry and Belgrade-based Jugoimport SDPR, a state-owned company active in the import and export of defence equipment, the office of the president of the Serb Republic said on Monday.
In a statement issued after the signing of the deal in Banja Luka, the office of the Serb Republic's president did not provide details about the type of missiles that will be overhauled.
However, the public broadcaster of the Serb Republic, RTRS, quoted Kosmos director Dusan Vjestica as saying Komsos will overhaul and repair part of Serbia's surface-to-air systems.
"This is a strategic contract for us and it refers to the overhaul of the air defense missile system," Vjestica is quoted as saying.
Kosmos is involved in the overhaul of radar, missile and computer systems. The company's workshops have a total built-up area of 80,000 sq m and a production of 20,000 different types of spare parts.
Yugoimport–SDPR is a Serbian state-owned intermediary company for the import and export of defense-related equipment, with the headquarters in Belgrade, Serbia.
