September 19 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Federation government approved plans to take two loans worth 200 million euro ($221.4 million) in total for the construction of Putnikovo brdo - Medakovo, Poprikuse - Nemila and Tarcin - Ivan sections of Corridor Vc, it said on Thursday.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) will extend a loan of 140 million euro, while the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide 60 million euro, the Federation government said in a press release.
The 5.5-kilometre Poprikuse - Nemila section will include the Golubinja tunnel, two viaducts, two bridges, an overpass and a loop, news portal eKapija.com said.
The Tarcin - Ivan section, with a length of 6.9 km, will feature two bridges with a total length of 1.1 km and a 1.8-kilometre tunnel, while the 8.5-kilometre Putnikovo brdo - Medakovo section will include four bridges and a 220-metre tunnel.
Corridor Vc is the main international transport corridor in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its development is a strategic priority for the country. The road is part of the Western Balkans Core Network. It has been established as an extension of the Trans-European Transport Networks and will eventually link the Hungarian capital Budapest with the Croatian port of Ploce.
