November 15 (SeeNews) - Autoputevi RS, the state-owned motorway operator of Bosnia's Serb Republic, has launched a 260 million marka ($152.3 million/132.9 million euro) tender for the design and construction of a motorway section that will connect the town of Bijeljina to Raca, on the border with Serbia, local media reported.
The 21-kilometre motorway section will have two lanes in each direction, with a median strip and one emergency lane on each side, news provider Ekapija reported on Friday.
The contractor will be required to complete the project within 36 months.
Bidders can submit their offers by December 27.
The Bijeljina - Raca section is part of a planned motorway that will link Banja Luka, the main city of Bosnia's Serb Republic entity, to Serbian capital Belgrade, thus also connecting Belgrade to the Bosnian capital Sarajevo.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
