SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), October 2 (SeeNews) – The state-owned motorway company of Bosnia's Muslim-Croat Federation, JP Autoceste FBiH, said it officially launched the construction of Zenica bypass road by signing contracts with its two builders.
Works will be carried out by local companies Hering and Divel, JP Autoceste said on Tuesday. Construction is to be completed within 30 months. The project will include the construction of two viaducts, Perin Han and Klopce, as well as the bridge Drivusa.
The Zenica bypass road, a section of Zenica Jug- Zenica Sjever motorway, is the beginning of a new investment cycle, said Ensad Karic, director of JP Autoceste FBiH. The company's goal is to build 80 kilometers of highway in addition to the 102 kilometers to be put into service in 2014.
The project will be financed by funds provided by Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).
The value of the investment was not disclosed.
Zenica is a city located in the central part of the Federation, 70 kilometers north of Sarajevo. The Federation is one of the two autonomous entities making up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
