July 10 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's shoe manufacturer Alfa has opened a production facility worth 2 million marka ($1.1 million/1 million euro) in Modrica, some 130 km east of Banja Luka, local media reported on Wednesday.
The newly opened production unit will employ 80 workers and a further 40 will be added by the end of the year, news portal Argumenti.rs reported on Wednesday.
The media outlet quoted Modrica mayor, Mladen Krekic, as saying that Alfa will open another production facility, which will employ 80 workers.
Alfa manufactures shoes for several market-leading brands. It also produces orthopedic shoes for Austria's Hegel Rolens company, Argumenti.rs said.
Modrica is a town in the Serb Republic, one of Bosnia's two constituent entities. The other one is the Federation.
