SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), September 17(SeeNews) – Bosnia's Federation state-owned motorway company Autoceste FBiH said the final works on the 5.8 km Klopce-Donja Gracanica subsection of pan-European transport Corridor Vc will be completed at the end of the 2020 construction season.
Autoceste FBiH signed a 107.9 million euro ($118.9 million) deal with a consortium of Austria's Strabag and Bosnia's Euro-Asfalt for the construction of the section in central Bosnia back in May 2016, saying works should be completed within two and a half years.
One of the most difficult construction sites along the section - the Babina Rijeka viaduct - was due to be connected to the rest of the motorway on Monday, Autoceste FBiH said in a statement last week. The 120-metre high viaduct was built using the free cantilever method.
The construction works on the Klopce-Donja Gracanica subsection are financed with loans from the OPEC Fund for International Development and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD),
Corridor Vc connects the port of Ploce in Croatia with Hungary's Budapest via Bosnia.
The Federation is one of the two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
