- The lower chamber of Bosnia's parliament endorsed on Tuesday the appointment of Sadik Ahmetovic as the country’s Security Minister, the daily said. His predecessor, Tarik Sadovic, resigned in July due to criticisms from domestic and international institutions about his performance on the job.
- Bosnian coal mining and energy complex Ugljevik, based in the Serb Republic, will undergo a 21.5 million marka overhaul next year and will invest 75 million marka in various development projects, its director general, Branislava Milekic, said. She added the company produces 1,500 gigawatt hours of electricity a year, accounting for 30% of the Republic’s power output.

- The European Parliament is scheduled to discuss at its ongoing session in Strasburg a 100 million euro credit to Bosnia, to help the country meet its fiscal needs in line with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) conditions, the newswire said. The IMF approved in July a 36-month, $1.52 billion stand-by loan to Bosnia.
- Gross production of electricity in Bosnia totalled 14,823 gigawatt hours last year, 32.8% of which was produced in hydro power plants, 65.8% in thermal power plants and 1.4% in industrial power plants, the statistics agency said.
