April 12 (SeeNews) - The Slovenian subsidiary of Austria’s BKS Bank recorded a net profit of 3.8 million euro ($4.1 million) in 2021, down from 6.7 million euro recorded in the previous year, the lender said.
The net interest income of the Slovenian subsidiary of BKS Bank went down to 10.7 million euro from 13.4 million euro, whereas pre-tax profit fell to 5.3 million euro from 8.1 million euro, BKS Bank said in an annual report posted on its website.
At the end of 2021, the balance of approved loans and leasing operations of BKS Bank in Slovenia amounted to 877.3 million euro, while deposits of non-bank clients increased by 16.7% to 1.464 billion euro, BKS Bank Slovenia said in a separate statement last week.
"The goal of BKS Bank is to upgrade the offer of sustainable financing and also to ensure sustainable investments in securities. Green credit and green investment play a key role in achieving the objectives of the European Green Agreement," BKS Bank board member Alexander Novak said.
The net profit of BKS-leasing Ljubljana, the Slovenian leasing subsidiary of BKS Bank, went up to 2.6 million euro from 1.9 million euro, the Austrian bank said.
BKS Bank entered the Slovenian market in 1998 with the purchase of a leasing company, today's BKS-leasing Ljubljana. At the end of 2021, BKS Bank Slovenia operated eight banking units and a leasing company, employing 158 people.
