June 3 (SeeNews) - Total trading turnover of Bosnia's Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE) increased to 66 million marka ($36.6 million/33.7 million euro) in May, compared with 36.9 million marka generated in April, the bourse said.
Equity turnover from regular trading on the BLSE totalled 9.6 million marka in May, higher than 1.2 million marka in the prior month, the bourse said in a monthly report.
The BLSE's total trading turnover amounted to 62.2 million marka in May 2023.
A total of 695 transactions were concluded on the Banja Luka bourse in May, compared with 404 in the previous month and 533 transactions in May 2023.
The BLSE's total market capitalisation amounted to 5.2 billion marka in May, down from 5.3 billion marka the prior month. The bourse's total market capitalisation came in at 4.7 billion marka in May 2023.
The BLSE’s benchmark index, the BIRS, closed at 901.95 points at the end of May, down 1.32% compared to the end-April value and 16.85% higher compared with its closing value at the end of May 2023.
Diversified company Boksit [BANJ:BOKS-R-A] contributed the largest portion of total trading turnover among the companies on the BLSE in May, of 3.4 million marka. The company's shares closed at 0.401 marka at the end of May, slightly up compared with 0.35 marka at the end of the previous month.
The BLSE is based in the Serb Republic, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) is based in the other entity, the Federation.
