October 5 (SeeNews) - Turkish electric battery manufacturer Aspilsan Energy broke ground for a lithium-ion battery production plant - the first in the country, it said.
The manufacturing facility will be built in Kayseri province, in central Turkey, Aspilsan said in a statement on Friday.
The plant will spread on a closed-door area of 24,000 square metres and is expected to be completed in 2021, Anadolu Agency quoted Aspilsan CEO Ismail Hakki Dogankaya as saying at the ground-breaking ceremony.
Aspilsan, established in 1981, is 98%-owned by Turkish Armed Forces Foundation.
