March 16 (SeeNews) - Russia's civil aviation authority said on Thursday it approved an application of flag carrier Air Serbia for the launch of flights to Krasnodar.
Air Serbia receives approval to operate up to seven flights a week from Serbia to Krasnodar, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency said in a statement posted on its website.
The approval is temporary and will be in force until the next round of consultations between the civil aviation authorities of Russia and Serbia, the agency said.
In a letter to the Russian Transport Ministry, dated January 17, the Serbian Civil Aviation Directorate expressed the interest of Air Serbia in establishing scheduled air services to Krasnodar with seven weekly frequencies.
The Serbian flag carrier currently operates three weekly flights to Saint Petersburg's Pulkovo airport and daily flights to Moscow's Sheremetyevo.
Air Serbia also has a codeshare agreement on flights operated by Aeroflot between Moscow and Kazan, Krasnodar, Samara, Sochi and Saint Petersburg.
