July 15 (SeeNews) - A1 Telekom Austria Group said the earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of its Serbian unit Vip Mobile rose by 4.2% year-on-year to 41.1 million euro ($47.0 million) in the first half of 2020.
The Serbian unit's total revenue increased 2% on the year to 136.7 million euro in the six months through June, Telekom Austria said in an interim financial statement published on Tuesday.
In the second quarter of 2020 alone, the EBITDA of Telekom Austria's Serbian unit grew 1.2% on the year to 20.7 million euro, while its revenue fell at the same rate to 68.1 million euro.
The number of wireless subscribers edged up 0.1% year-on-year to 2.273 million at end-June.
Vip Mobile's main competitors are Telenor Serbia and state-owned MTS.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, A1 Telekom Austria is present in Bulgaria, Croatia, North Macedonia and Slovenia.
