April 27 (SeeNews) - A1 Telekom Austria Group said its Croatian unit recorded earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 38 million euro ($40.2 million) in the first quarter of 2022, up 6.3% year-on-year.
"Total revenues slightly increased by 1.5% in the reporting period (to 107.5 million euro) as solid mobile and fixed-line revenue growth offset the lower interconnection and equipment revenues," A1 Telekom Austria Group said in a financial statement on Tuesday.
The number of wireless subscribers of A1 Croatia rose to 1.981 million at the end of March, up 2% on the year.
On the mobile segment, A1 Croatia competes with Telemach Hrvatska, the local unit of United Group, and the wireless arm of Hrvatski Telekom (HT) [ZSE:TH]. All of them as well as Italy's EOLO were granted licences for building 5G networks last year.
