Oil Refineries - Romania (2014)

Romania's crude oil refining sector is the largest in terms of operating capacity in Southeast Europe (SEE). As of August 2014, there were five big refineries, namely Petromidia, Petrobrazi, Petrotel Ploiesti, Rafo Onesti, and Vega Ploesti.The largest fuel retailers are Rompetrol SA, OMV Petrom SA and Petrotel - Lukoil SA.

Romania’s total annual refining capacity stands at 12 million tonnes of crude oil.

In 2013 Romania owned the largest crude oil reserves in SEE, with proven oil stocks amounting to 600 million barrels. The country’s total oil production increased by 4.8% on the year, to 87,000 barrels per day in 2013.
