June 12 (SeeNews) - The World Bank said it expects Bosnia and Herzegovina's gross domestic product (GDP) to increase by 2.6% in 2024, some 0.2 percentage points below the estimate which the bank made in January.
Bosnia's economic growth is projected to accelerate to 3.3% in 2025, the World Bank said in its June 2024 Global Economic Prospects report published on Tuesday.
Bosnia's economy is estimated to have expanded by 1.7% in 2023.
The Western Balkans' economies are seen expanding by 3.2% in 2024, following an estimated 2.5% regional economic growth in 2023.
"The global economy is expected to stabilize for the first time in three years in 2024—but at a level that is weak by recent historical standards," the global lender said.
Global growth is projected to hold steady at 2.6% in 2024 before edging up to an average of 2.7% in 2025-26, which is well below the 3.1% average in the decade before the COVID-19 pandemic, the report reads.
