May 18 (SeeNews) - Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air will add a new aircraft to its base in Skopje and launch two new routes to link North Macedonia's capital to Slovenia's Ljubljana and Luxembourg, TAV Macedonia, the local unit of Turkey's TAV Airports Holding, said on Thursday.
Wizz Air will add a sixth aircraft to its base in Skopje in December, TAV Macedonia said in a statement.
The carrier will start operating the Skopje-Ljubljana flights on September 27, whereas the new route to Luxembourg will be launched on December 18.
Wizz Air also plans to increase the frequency of nine of its flights from Skopje to destinations in Germany, Italy, Belgium, Slovakia and the Netherlands.
TAV Macedonia operates the country's two international airports - in Skopje and Ohrid. The airports served a total of 753,377 passengers combined in the first four months of 2023, up 44% year-on-year.
