January 28 (SeeNews) - The U.S. government said it has provided $3 million (2.7 million euro) in additional funding for COVID-19 pandemic relief in Kosovo.
The new funding is provided via the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the Unites States Agency for International Development (USAID) said in a statement on Thursday.
This assistance will help in the provision of core social services, including those for vulnerable children who have been affected by the pandemic, as well as improve health services to promote vaccination and facilitate rapid information sharing among health institutions, the U.S. government agency said.
The new funding builds on the previous $5.1 million in COVID-19 assistance that USAID has committed to Kosovo during the pandemic.
