June 6 (SeeNews) - US-based automated teller machine manufacturer National Cash Register plans to grow its workforce in Serbia to 3,100 employees by the end of 2018, the general manager of the company's Serbian unit, Stefan Lazarevic, said on Wednesday.
NCR currently has 2,652 employees in Serbia and intends to increase that number to about 4,000 in the long term, Lazarevic said in a video file posted on the website of Serbian news agency Tanjug. 0
Last year, the company decided to build a campus in Belgrade to support its growth in Serbia, Lazarevic said during the official opening of "Industry 4.0" conference at the Kragujevac factory of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Group.
The construction of the campus, to be carried out under a public-private partnership scheme with the Serbian government, will be completed within 18 to 24 months, the CEO of NCR, William Nuti, said in March 2017.
The company plans to invest a total of $400 million (370.9 million euro) in Serbia in the following 10 years and to open around 1,500 jobs by 2020, Nuti said back then.
NCR produces self-service kiosks, point-of-sale terminals, automated teller machines, check processing systems, barcode scanners, and business consumables and its Serbian unit provides customer support services.
