September 7 (SeeNews) - United Group, a leading multi-play telecommunications and media services provider in Southeast Europe (SEE), said on Friday it is getting ready for the next-generation services by heavily overhauling its customer premises equipment (CPE) base.
After announcing investments of over 600 million euro ($694.6 million) in SEE in the next five years in May, United Group has now issued a request for proposals (RFP) for full range of next generation CPE devices, across all of its markets, all technologies and all network types, the company said in a statement.
Following the latest worldwide trends in TV and broadband, United Group’s purpose with this RFP is to make long-term investments in its infrastructure to ensure it can bring the next-generation services and technology to its subscribers’ base with 3.67 million revenue generating units, the company added.
The RFP will be available to all eligible manufacturers possessing an operator CP segment for TV and broadband services, worldwide.
Deadline for submissions of offers is September 25, 2018.
United Group said in May it has laid over 15,000 km of fibre-optic cable in SEE, reaching 1.77 million homes and supporting 50,000 businesses. It employs more than 3,400.
