August 25 (SeeNews) - Austrian insurance group UNIQA said on Thursday its half-year pre-tax profit from operations in Serbia jumped by 60% to 800,000 euro ($903,512).
Premium income from Serbian operations decreased by an annual 11% to 22.1 million euro through June, UNIQA said in its half year financial report. Premiums from the non-life insurance fell 23% to 12.1 million euro, while premiums from life insurance added 1 % to 7.4 million euro.
In Southeast Europe, UNIQA also operates in Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro. Its premiums income in the region, excluding Romania, edged down by 1% to 141.3 million euro.
