October 26 (SeeNews) - Italian banking group UniCredit said on Wednesday its Serbian unit recorded a consolidated profit of 53.5 million euro ($53.6 million) in the first nine months of 2022, up 55.1% on the year.
The Serbian unit's net interest income increased 11.7%% to 93.2 million euro in the first nine months of 2022, while the net fee income added 17.4% to just under 32 million euro, the UniCredit Group said in an interim financial statement.
The operating costs of UniCredit's Serbian unit went up 6.4% on the year to 55.3 million euro, while net operating profit expanded 31.9% to 85.5 million euro.
In the third quarter of 2022 alone, UniCredit's Serbian unit recorded a consolidated profit of 18.9 million euro, up from the profit of 8.75 million euro reported for the like period of last year.
Customer loans increased 9.6% on the year to 2.94 billion euro at the end of September, while deposits totalled just under 3.2 billion euro, up from 2.84 billion euro a year earlier.
