August 24 (SeeNews) - Telenor Serbia has appointed Mike Michel as its new chief executive officer as of October 1, the company said on Friday.
Mike Michel worked on various management positions in the Czech Republic, Serbia, Montenegro and Hungary, and was the acting general manager of companies in the region, Telenor Serbia, a unit of Czech Republic-based investment group PPF, said in an e-mailed statement.
Last month, PPF Group completed the acquisition of Norwegian mobile operator Telenor's telecommunications assets in Bulgaria, Hungary, Montenegro and Serbia 2.8 billion euro ($3.2 million) on an enterprise value basis. PPF Group said at the time it has financed the transaction through a syndicated loan.
Serbia, with a population of around 7 million, has three operators active in the mobile segment - Telekom Srbija, Telenor Serbia and Vip Mobile.
