November 10 (SeeNews) - Telekom Romania Mobile, an indirect subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, said on Thursday its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 89% year-on-year to 38 million euro ($38.2 million) in the first nine months of 2022.
The company's earnings during January-September edged up 0.3% to 233.4 million euro, Telekom Romania Mobile said in a press release.
Telekom Romania's customer base increased 13.3% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2022, to a total of 4.08 million.
At the end of September, the company had 1.82 million postpaid subscribers, up 6.2% on the year, and 2.25 million prepaid users, up buy an annual 19.8%.
"For 2023, we expect the economic environment to be even more challenging due to inflation, the energy crisis to continue, and the effects of the Ukrainian conflict to last. Thus, we are taking necessary actions to go through this period" added Nicolas Mahler, Chief Financial Officer at Telekom Mobile.
In 2021, Greece's Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE) purchased Telekom Mobile Romania from its then parent company, Telekom Communications Romania.
