March 20 (SeeNews) - Austria-based construction group Strabag SE said on Tuesday it has been awarded a 39 million euro ($48 million) contract to build an office tower in central Bucharest, Romania.
The completion of the 110 m tall office building is scheduled for October 2019, Strabag said in a press release.
"Thanks to the use of innovative construction materials, the office building should receive the highest level of LEED [Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design] certification, LEED Platinum, when it is completed,” Strabag SE CEO, Thomas Birtel, said.
Ana Tower is being built near the Romexpo exhibition centre with a direct connection to the airport via metro line M6, which is to be built in 2020. The building will have 28 floors with a total usable space of 40,800 sq m.
Strabag SE employs 73,000 and generates an annual output volume of more than 14 billion euro.
The group has been operating in Romania since 1991 and is active in all construction sectors, especially in transportation infrastructure, building construction and civil engineering segments as well as in environmental construction projects.
In 2017, the 1,360 employees of the Strabag group in Romania generated an output volume of about 183 million euro.
