September 16 (SeeNews) - State-owned gas monopoly Srbijagas said on Wednesday it plans to cut the tariff for public supply of gas as of October 1.
The company said in a statement it will seek the approval of the country's energy regulator, AERS, for a gas tariff cut by an average 9.3% for end-consumers eligible to get their gas from Srbijagas as a public supplier.
The company said price movements for petroleum products on the commodity market in the relevant quarter and the dollar exchange rate have made room for the tariff cut.
One gas tariff cut was already implemented in Serbia as of June 1, lowering the price by 5.4% on average for all customers eligible for public supply and by 5.1% on average for households.
In Serbia, 249,000 households, or 10% of the total, have access to gas.
