March 23 (SeeNews) - Serbia's state-owned natural gas monopoly Srbijagas said on Wednesday it plans to slash the regulated wholesale gas price by 12.93% as of April 1.
The company said in a statement its decision, which needs to be approved by the country's energy regulator, AERS, is based on quarterly changes in oil derivatives prices and the U.S. dollar exchange rate.
Serbia imports 82% of its gas from Russia through a pipeline via Hungary and Ukraine, while the rest comes from domestic sources.
Some 249,000 Serbian households, or 10% of the total, have access to gas.
