BELGRADE (Serbia), August 8 (SeeNews) – Serbian state-owned company Srbijagas is investing 14 million euro ($15.7 million) in the expansion of its natural gas distribution network on the territory of Zrenjanin city, the city council said.
The project is carried out by Srbijagas in partnership with local company Bobar Beska under a contract signed last year, the city council said in a statement earlier this week.
"More than 14 million euro will be invested in gas infrastructure. I would like to remind that for more than 30 years there has been no investment in gas facilities in the territory of our city. Upon completion of this work, all settlements that do not have gas now will be gasified," Zrenjanin mayor, Cedomir Janjic, said.
About 300 kilometres of gas network will be constructed on the territory of Zrenjanin by the beginning of next year, Janjic added.
In July 2018, Srbijagas signed an agreement with the Zrenjanin city government to expand the natural gas distribution network in its area. Under the agreement, the construction works will be executed by Bobar Beska.
